my mother taught
me piano at the age of 7 and since then i have been caught
by the music bug and have become an avid musician/songwriter.
i'm now 32 years old and i feel i have finally matured
into the kind of musician i have always wished to become.
while knowing, i have so much more to learn!
i
started my first band "josette's eye" when i
was 19 years old with good friend bejay hummel (thompson
liner notes). shortly thereafter we started recording
our debut album in the summer of 1998 and released "alibi
clock" the following march 1999. we toured, lived,
wrote and in the fall of 2000 we started recording our
second album "enamorata" with the help of producer/engineer
dave filburn who also manned the drums. but by that time
the band had started to lose steam and all involved where
beginning to look for new horizons. the group disbanded
in 2002.
In
the fall of 2003 i started collaborating with friend/vocalist/lyricist
todd bennington while simultaneously collaborating with
vocalist/guitarist darren brewster whom i started the
short lived 4 piece band "stroma". I use some
of todd's lyrics on a couple of my songs. i love his words
and the images they carry. he and i are still friends.
in
2004 bassist rock moore and i started "the empty
hollow". i had a catalog of songs already just sitting
around my head so that helped a great deal. we brought
on singer heith auman and drummer martinho riberio to
round out the sound. we played out extensively and in
the summer of 2007 we released our debut album "growing
slumber". though there were many interpersonal issues
and creative differences and shortly thereafter the group
disbanded. which brings us to my current musical endeavor.
using
influences from tool to seal along with life on this planet
i bring an interesting brand of acoustic music to your
ears. always being in bands and never branching out to
show the world what i have to offer as a solo artist i
now have that freedom. i am currently in the studio working
on my debut album tentatively titled: "the feat of elijahwuan"". i'll
be releasing it in the fall with the help of the master
of sound ryan hughes and many friends sitting in on various
songs. the music you are hearing is a collection of home
recordings from 2005 to current.
my
hope, and partly my reason for making music is for some
part of me to live on and echo through the years. i make
music to enjoy, to challenge, and to maybe, just maybe
inspire someone else to do the same. i hope you enjoy
what you hear? thank u & be well.
